Profiles in Resilience: Meet Aslyne, Nisa, Lauren and Deanna
Resilience—the ability to persevere in the face of adversity or challenges—is a difficult characteristic for most people to obtain. In fact, many people find it difficult to overcome these challenges and they simply give up. That is certainly not the case with these young women, Aslyne Rodriguez, Nisa Williams, Lauren Huffman and Deanna Ratleff. What makes their stories and perspectives even more remarkable. At very young ages, these women have learned not to let obstacles stand in their way of success. Whether working as young entrepreneurs or working tirelessly for others in need, these women have learned to face their problems head on and find solutions to them. And they demonstrate a deep compassion for others and a drive to succeed that take most people several years to develop.
