09/17/12Tennessee Artist"I was hiking in Tennessee this weekend with my sister. We were approaching the trail when I saw this woman in the distance. She was in total pursuit of her passion, painting the forest surrounding her. I captured one quick photo & carried on unnoticed. The painter reminds me of why I pick up a camera everyday. Photography gives me purpose when I walk outside into the world. My eye is drawn to those who know their purpose, like this artist." |

Abby Walters is a traveling freelance photographer based in Columbus, Ohio. Originally from the tiny town of Dresden, Abby journeyed to Columbus to pursue a degree at The Ohio State University. She has a B.A. in English, which brought her to The Women’s Book as a writing intern in 2009. During this time, she also exercised another passion: photography. Photography gives Abby the power to positively contribute to the image of women. She takes this responsibility very seriously.
