What's Going On for Women in Business
65th Annual Bargain Box
Columbus, OH (Aug 5, 2013) – New toys, holiday décor, vintage goods, and clothing for the entire family are just a few of the treasures attendees will find at the 65th annual Junior League of Columbus Bargain Box community sale. Bargain Box is one of the oldest and largest sales of this nature in Central Ohio and it will be held at Veterans Memorial October 4-5, 2013. Items are either new or gently used, with several items donated by corporate sponsors.

Bargain Box also features a Boutique department, which contains designer and couture clothing and accessories, in addition to fine collectibles and wedding gowns. Many of these items are new/never used.
Friday, October 4
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
On Friday night, there is a $5 admission charge for all those who want to attend the preview night event and get the first chance to buy great merchandise at outstanding bargains. Wristbands go on sale at 4 PM outside Veterans Memorial and doors open at 6 PM. The event also features live entertainment, a celebrity emcee and a cash bar.
Saturday, October 5
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Admission is free on Saturday, Oct. 5th, and the deals are even better, with prices reduced by 50%. Doors are open from 9 AM - 3 PM.
Since its inception in 1949, Bargain Box has raised more than $1.75 million to support the JLC’s community projects, such as:
- Adopt a Backpack for Children, which donates more than 2,500 new backpacks filled with school supplies at the beginning of each school year and more than 17,000 backpacks since the program began;
- Kids in the Kitchen, a healthy eating initiative to combat childhood obesity;
- Kelton House Museum and Garden/Underground Railroad Learning Station, which provides adult and student educational tours and cultural events
